It is with much joy and pain that I announce the slow death of the frikios.com domain which I find very much unused for the most part.

It will be let free to the public domain pool in 60 days; anyone wishing to check our (non-updated) website can do so at thefreaks.co.cc (yay for free domains!).

It's been a while since I last updated DeviantART.

I've been tremendously lazy, and with the recent magical fix of Premiere Pro, I've been staying away from Photoshop very much.

Well, that doesn't mean I don't do anything at all! So what are you waiting for? Watch us now!

I refuse to send your chain letter anyhow.

Yes, in recent days I seem to be getting more and more chain emails and messages. The most prevalent being messages about some stupid Brazilian acai berry that sheds weight. It seems that almost everyone on my MSN list has this crap, and I do hope that I don't.

Well, I'm getting quite demotivated these days, with my parents being against my use of the computer. Of course, that would mean no new computer for me, because even my brothers go around saying "your computer is good enough, be grateful".

How can a computer be "good enough" when it has 4.5GB hard disk space left (after uninstalling Red Alert 3, CS: Condition Zero, Nexuiz and Endorphin) and actually crashes at Adobe Premiere Pro. I'm VERY surprised that my computer manages to run Adobe Photoshop relatively fine.

That, of course, means I'll be making masterpieces from time to time, but not necessarily everytime. I, unlike Mikhail, do not have a portable workstation. I'm just stuck with this crazy loud machine that has more bark than bite.

Well, I haven't updated the Journal in ages. Guess it's time for a little dusting.

I just found myself to lose motivation on arts, and everything computer in general. I guess I've seen and done everything necessary and my to-do list is empty.

I've recently worked on FileCube.net, a small file sharing service that's targeted at the Asian region. It's still in Beta, but you can always test it out.

I'll post up some photos once a while, and maybe a few artworks, but that's it for now. Unless one of you manages to persuade me to move my lazy arse.

Today, Mikhail cried to me. "Yauhui, I think I just lost it. I can't Photoshop anymore!"

According to him, Adobe After Effects is to be blamed, because "it is difficult to work with both". He also pulled his C++ lessons into the picture, trying to divert people away from his fundamental lack of talent.

Just admit it, Mikhail, you were never good at Photoshop anyways!

Also, it was the first time Mikhail witnessed someone draw a fantastic figure with a BIG, WIDE GRIN with only a Pilot G2 pen, in which case is our art teacher. He was all hyped up and asking me, "Should we invite him into TheFreaks? Should we? SHOULD WE???"

Come on, Mikhail, you used to have a friggin Wacom Graphire! And you can draw way better than that lah ok! You're just being a fat, lazy COW.

TheFreaks is proud to...

1) be part of the Vision Malaysia group. :iconvisionmsia:

2) have over 3000 pageviews.

3) have such a complicated history: [link]

4) be awesome.

SURPRISE?

Nik and Mikhail have quit TheFreaks, but Mikhail then rejoined as probationary Freak!

MOAR MOAR MOAR!

TheFreaks will last to October 2009!

AND MOAR!

Yauhui is awesome, end of discussion.

========================================================

It has been quite some time that I have last updated the page, because I was busy learning to use (or messing up) Adobe Premiere Pro CS4.

And, TMNet Streamyx's *fast* and *superior* internet connection proved very *helpful*.

Okay, so a small checklist:

Updated journal? Check.
Updated signature? Check.
Updated gallery? Err...

Mikhail and I have decided to open an extension wing, and he has it named TheFreaks Plugged-In.

TheFreaks Plugged-In is a partner program for TheFreaks, where talented and somewhat helpful people are recruited to be part of TheFreaks, yet not directly affliated with TheFreaks.

Members of TheFreaks Plugged-In are identified as Plug-Ins (brilliant name huh!) and they will soon get their own space on TheFreaks' website.

Artwork by members of TheFreaks Plugged-In are (currently, at least) uploaded to TheFreaks' main deviantART account, and the artwork are individually moderated by TheFreaks yauhui and mikhail. Then, if they pass QC, they make their way to the dA gallery with attribution to the Plug-Ins.

And, lookie lookie, Nik Shazril Bakti is the first member of TheFreaks Plugged-In! Congratulations, and a warm welcome!

It is a surprise to see our official homepage, www.frikios.com, to be on the first page of a Google search (with keyword "thefreaks")!

I believe soon enough it will climb up the index ladder - I hope you guys could link to our website as much as possible. This will help increase our PageRank - besides that, link us and we'll link you back (on yauhui's blog)!

Your support is very much appreciated!

I'm apparently lack of around 5 pictures, and contributions are very much appreciated.

TheFreaks [yauhui] is currently working on a new viedo project!

It is.. *drum roll*

TheFreaks Pictures of the Year 2008 video compilation!

Pictures of the Year 2008, or PotY 08 in short, is a video compilation featuring funny, whacky, awesome, zany, hilarious or plain :iconohmaiplz:.

It will be made in either Flash MX or Windows Movie Maker (if only I had iMovie...), and posted to deviantART and YouTube, and any other websites I deem appropriate (such as Google Video, etc).

And you can be a part of it! Here's how!

If you have a picture or two, and would like them to be featured, please send them to redevil1995[at]REMOVETHISOBVIOUSLYFAKEBITgmail[dot]com with the following details:

-Full name (a pseudonym may be included if you want). This will appear in the credits.
-Location (preferably your country). This will be displayed with your picture, instead of your name, to protect your privacy.
-Camera used when taking picture (e.g. Sony a350, Canon D450, Canon IXUS 65, Sony Ericsson K800i, Nokia 6681, etc)

It is preferred if you first upload the images to ImageShack and then email me the URL of the picture (available at the bottom of the page upon successful upload; scroll down to obtain picture URL).

Please be wary of advertisements on ImageShack (some of the ads appear to be a part of the website itself). I will not claim responsibility for any malware attack arising from your visit to ImageShack.

Your pictures can also be uploaded to deviantART. Send me the link to the resized image (look below).

Pictures should not be larger than 1024x768 (ImageShack and deviantART can resize your picture, 800x600 recommended) and must not contain:

-Gore (blood, extreme violence)
-Nudity
-Ideologically sensitive pictures (examples: race/politics/swearing - e.g. middle-finger, gestures resembling/symbolizing sexual acts, violence, etc)

Pictures will be judged and selected ones will be featured.

Image quality is top priority, and when I say that I do not mean taking 5-megapix pictures. I mean clear, decently steady shots (where the subject can be seen and identified easily and clearly).

It's okay if your picture is slightly shaky. I understand that some cameras are REALLY slow, even my current phone camera is.

By submitting your pictures to me, you agree to grant me all rights to the submitted picture.

This is to ensure that I don't get into any troubles with copyright. You can still retain your copyright to the pic (it's tagged to your picture by default in deviantART), all I want is the right to publish it online, or in any other forms of media (booklet, mini-magazine, etc).

---

This project is not financially motivated. It is for the sole purpose of fun, and only that.

If you decide to support this project, please tell it to your friends. I currently do not accept gifts/donations in any form, until further notice.

The resulting video will be copyleft TheFreaks, all wrongs deserved. Until further notice.

One day, I got an amazing idea - a real remote desktop.

Imagine, if your computer is in a room which you had sprayed insecticide in, and you have urgent matters to compute.

A remote laptop kicks in.

Don't understand? Okay, let's start from the basics.

Image an ordinary laptop computer.

Then imagine it without all the chipsets.

Then imagine the screen, mouse, keyboard, speakers, network, etc. all wirelessly connected to the main computer.

E.g. moving the mouse on the Remote Desktop causes the RD to send a request (raw data) to the main computer, and the main comp will interpret the raw data using the hardware already available (processor, card, chipsets, etc). Then, the interpreted data will be:

1) rendered on the main computer itself - the mouse cursor will move on the main comp screen

2) sent wirelessly to the RD - the RD screen displays whatever exactly displayed on the main comp screen

Then, I drew a blueprint, and everything. I was so excited. Until. Until.

I searched Google. And found out that someone else has already filed a patent for the same technology.

To make ourselves easily known on the Internet, we decided to re-brand ourselves.

Yauhui => Yau
Mikhail => Kyle

And due to my lazyness in updating the gallery folders, I decided to delete them - if you want to browse for a particular deviation THEN GO LOOK FOR IT YOURSELF.

Ok, that's all for now.. Bye <3
